Beginning her career in facility management as an administrative
assistant 10 years ago, Catarina has risen through the ranks to
take on the leadership role of managing a CAD$622m critical care
hospital in Canada’s largest city. Just two months after accepting
the customer business manager (CBM) position at Bridgepoint
Health, Catarina was immediately faced with one of the largest
challenges a healthcare facility would encounter in recent history:
the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite the chaos the pandemic created,
BGIS’s FM team at Bridgepoint proved their determination and
resilience, led by Catarina’s strong leadership and her vision of
BGIS’ crucial role as a healthcare FM during the pandemic. The
team’s hard work during very busy and challenging working
conditions paid off as they were successful in delivering on
the FM scope of service without any service interruptions
or deductions related to the pandemic despite having fewer
resources available. Catarina’s team was able to provide FM
service to the hospital as if it was a normal working period, a
testament to the dedication of all BGIS team members as well as
her leadership.
