Winston & Strawn
The law firm is dedicated to providing a professionally
challenging, collaborative, and personally enjoyable workplace,
which is underscored by its longstanding commitment to
corporate social responsibility. Over the course of 2021, Winston
& Strawn has undertaken a number of major initiatives to support
its approach to constantly improving its culture and increasing
diversity. For example, its executive committee adopted new
three-year strategic DEI goals, including goals to increase the
representation of women, racial/ethnic minorities, and LGBTQ+
lawyers in the workforce, in leadership positions, and among the
most highly compensated. Progress is measured on a quarterly
basis and the firm has goals to reward inclusive staffing. It also
launched the fourth cohort of its D&I Associate Sponsorship
Program, which pairs high-potential women, minority, and
LGBTQ+ associates in their fifth and sixth year with sponsors
from the firm’s executive committee. The long-term fruits of this
program were also seen in 2021, with four of its 2018 protégés
elevated to the partnership and two to of counsel positions.
